Outbreak Update – January 29, 2021

Fairfield Park remains in outbreak for COVID-19. Chatham-Kent Public Health has confirmed that there are currently a total of 18 residents and 13 staff who have tested positive for COVID-19 within the home. This number is current as of noon on Friday January 29th 2021. These numbers may change as the situation unfolds. Employees continue to be tested for COVID-19 on a weekly basis. Residents are being screened twice daily for symptoms, and will be tested throughout the outbreak at the discretion of Public Health and our attending physician.

Fairfield Park has partnered with organizations across the Chatham-Kent Ontario Health Team to ensure adequate care and coverage is being given to our residents. Staffing supports from CKHA, and the CKOHT partners ensure that we are able to adhere to the Public Health guidelines and recommendations. Staff supports have been provided for personal support workers, housekeeping staff, and registered nursing staff.

The safety of our residents and our employees is our top priority. We continue to be inspired by the commitment and dedication of our Fairfield Park staff who continue to do their part in following infection control protocols, and giving the best care to our residents.

We continue to allow one Essential Caregiver into the home per resident.  Full PPE must be worn by all essential caregivers at all times.  This includes gown, gloves, eye protection and a mask worn properly over the nose and mouth, including while in resident rooms.  We will provide these items for you.

We are grateful for the outpouring of support by our community.

Together we can get through this.
