The activation and restorative department strives to provide high quality programs that meet the social, emotional, physical, cognitive and spiritual needs of all residents. These needs are addressed through a balance of programs offered in group settings, as well as individually by well-trained activity staff, physiotherapists, physiotherapy assistants, occupational therapists, restorative care aides and an on-site pastor.
Therapeutic & holistic programs are offered 7 days a week throughout the daytime and evening hours to meet resident needs and abilities. Staff encourage residents to pursue recreational activities from their past, as well as newly developed interests such as cooking, gardening, crafts, group & individual exercise programs, sporting games such as bowling, shuffle board and many more. Regular spiritual programming is planned, as well as live music programs and activities are provided weekly. In addition, Montessori programming is available to those who would benefit.
We encourage community involvement in our activities and invite family and friends to join in. We often have choirs, school groups and other community groups visit the Home to entertain and interact with the residents. As well, a variety of outings are planned throughout the year for our residents’ enjoyment.
