Our Annual Terry Fox Walk and Roll will be held Friday September 20th, starting at 9:30 am.
A pledge board has been set up in the home’s front lobby. All residents who have had a minimum $2.00 pledge donated will be escorted on the 1/3 of a mile walk around the outside of our home. Residents may be sponsored more than once and our goal is to have all 103 residents participate in the walk for cancer research. Please bring donations over $20.00 to the Activation Office so you may have a tax receipt sent to you.
We are also looking for volunteers to assist with escorting residents that morning. There will be refreshments for all participants. This is a great opportunity for our residents to remain active in their community, support a great cause and get some fresh air. Should the weather not cooperate, we will complete the walk indoors. All money raised from this event will go to the Terry Fox Foundation for cancer research.
A big Thank You goes out to our local Knights of Columbus for sponsoring a BBQ that was held at Brander Park on August 30th. Many of our own residents attended, as well as some from Wallaceburg Retirement Residence. Thank you to all of the family members who joined us and assisted with our fun day out!
We would also like to thank the WAMBO committee for including us in the Dream Cruise and Firetruck Parade route again this year. We had a large group of residents and family members attend and enjoy the live music and parade.
There will be a Shut-In Mass taking place on September 27th. If you are interested in attending the service with your family member please advise the Activities Department to make arrangements.
Geri Fashions & Harvest Luncheon

Mark your calendars! Geri Fashions mobile shop will be here for the day with a boutique set up for residents, families and community members to shop. Geri Fashions offers stylish clothing as well as adapted clothing for those who are not ambulatory. All pieces are easy care and convenient for the residents and staff alike.
The Activities Department will also be hosting the annual Harvest Luncheon that day to raise money for our Fairfield Park Volunteers. The cost is $8.00 and includes your choice of soup, sandwich, dessert and a beverage.
The 2019 Flu Vaccine consent forms are being mailed with the September billing. Please review, sign and return to Fairfield Park as soon as possible. We will be administering the flu shots as soon as the vaccine is available in October/November. Thank you in advance for your continued support and cooperation.
Tara Seney, Public Education Manager from the Chatham-Kent Alzheimer Society will be providing a presentation for members of our community, on the 10 warning signs of Dementia, memory aids & tools, tools to help people remember to take their medications, day-to-day memory strategies and “ROPES” strategies. Her presentation is for anyone in the community who would like to learn more about these topics. Please join us on October 23rd, 2019 from 6-7pm in our Westside Activity Room. If you know of anyone who may benefit from learning more about these topics, please share with them the dates & location.
