April 2018 News

April News 2018

April is Volunteer Month and we will be honoring our Volunteers with an Appreciation Luncheon on April 19th, as Our Volunteers make a big difference in the lives of our Residents.
If you are interested in becoming a Volunteer at Fairfield Park, please contact our Activity Department and an orientation to our Home can be arranged. Volunteers provide many complimentary services and programs, such as assisting with dining, shopping, games, fund raising, one on one visiting, palliative care, pamper programs and special events.

Due to fragrance sensitivities please do not bring Easter Lilies into the home.

To minimize the risk of a medication error being made, we ask families to avoid calling and/or interrupting the nurse while she is administering medications. Medications are normally administered between the hours of 7-9:30 am, 12-12:30, 3:00-5:30 pm and 7-8:30 pm.   In the event you happen to call between these hours, your call may be forwarded to a voice messaging system, if there is not an alternate nurse who can receive your call.  If this happens, the nurse will respond to your phone message after she has administered medications to the residents.  Thank you in advance for your cooperation.

We would like to express our gratitude to all family members who made a donation in memory of a loved to our memorial garden. These funds keep this garden in bloom for all to enjoy.

All our residents love visits from their furry, four legged friends, however our home’s policy, for everyone’s safety, is to have a copy of an up to date vaccination record for each animal that visits the home. You can leave a copy with the activity dept. and please remember to keep your pet on a leash at all times. Please be sure to let other family members know of this policy so their pets may visit the home also.

Mark your calendars for Upcoming Events:
• Sunday May 13th- Our Annual Mother’s Day Brunch. A buffet will be served between 11:00 am and 1:00 pm. Cost will be $10.00 per person and $5.00 for our Residents and children under 12. Be sure to call for reservations. Residents not having guest that day will be served their regular lunch at the regular meal time.

• Thursday June 7th, Geri Fashions will be here for your clothing needs

• Tuesday, June 19th. We will have a Strawberry Jamboree with a Family BBQ and Entertainment.

There are several events, outings and entertainment planned this April. See your calendar for all the dates and times.

We are pleased to announce that we will be moving to a new provider of continence care products, PREVAIL by First Quality and anticipate these products to be available in our home by April 30, 2018.  Please review the introductory letter included with our newsletter.

We will be working with our residents and families over the upcoming weeks to ensure the bottom drawer of their bedside table is kept empty and clean, as it will begin to be used to store incontinence products and other supplies that are specific to them.
